Daddy God’s Little Girl - A Mother’s Cry

You gave her to me, Lord,
And I gave her back to you.
It seems like only yesterday
That she was so small in my arms –
But now, she’s all grown up,
She’s grown into a beautiful young woman
But still a princess, my princess..


I was the one who called you “princess”
Knowing that as we spoke your name over the years
That we would be declaring  truth over your life..


But now, Lord, as I see and hear her pain
When I read her heart’s cry, expressed so poignantly thru
Her way with words,
The gift you have given her..


My princess,
I want to pick you up and  kiss away the pain,
Just like I used to when you were little…
But I can’t..
I must step back, and allow you to deal with your pain
In your own way –
In your own time

The tears flow as I write..

But wait . . Father you’re there – you’ve been there
For her all the time..
Because I gave her to you,
You’ve been faithful to her, and to me
Looked after her
Better than I ever could – tho’ I thought I could do better.

And yes, she’s seen your hand, heard you calling
And embraced your will for her life,
Set her face to You.
I thank you Father for my own
Precious Princess..
